The Power supplies DO become weaker over time, but are still adjustable.
Most Compacters will either stretch the screen to the corners of the CRT or
leave it as it was factory set, in about an inch all the way around.

With the case off, you can see the Power Supply, (analog board), has
adjustments on the paper side. One for voltage, one for brightness, one for
height, one for width, one for focus.

The width adjustment is tricky. It's a "choke", a coil with a graphite
center post/screw. To adjust it requires a #15 torx driver and a pre-lubing
with a WD40 or such through the component side as the screw becomes stuck to
the shaft and can crumble without allowing any adjustment at all.
