You mean it's patriotic to not pay you taxes!?

Well the gentleman at the Boston Tea Party certainly thought so, and there was
a rebellion (Called a revolutionary war) fought over that concept.

It's not patriotic to pay taxes to a government in which you have
no representation.

Wait a minute, I live in DC.

OK, DC is a Federal District that was specifically designed to be
a neutral ground. I can accept paying DC taxes, which are among
the highest in the US, but why do I have to pay Federal taxes?

I have no representation in Congress.

Good point. You chose to live in DC for a lot of good reasons. Many of us would like for you to have voting representation in Congress. Maybe when DC is reabsorbed back into Maryland, you'll get that. Some of us are voting for you to get representation in DC. That's one reason why I reminded my son why he doesn't want to live in DC instead of Montgomery County.

Otherwise the good things about living in DC must be outweigh the bad things. How'd you like to bike to work from Arlington or Greenbelt [without putting your bicycle on the Metro]? Or have a computer-controlled bicycle that takes you to work through DC traffic? When's the revolution?!
