> Yes, I forgot that one. Imperial IT telling the poor schmucks who

Right on schedule. I could set my watch by you.

This is what is known as known as "managing" Tom. I know you are unfamiliar
with the process, but I can assure you that businesses that don't "manage"
their resources find the exit door quickly.

> As an added bonus we also get a dose of contempt. The poor schmuck
> who is falling behind with their work due to bad IT is a "drama

There aren't different types of personalities that have an effect on how
they behave and how they perceive the world? Hmmm, maybe your world is full
of identical drones....

As I indicated, I get to know my users. It helps you identify quickly who
truly is trustworthy and when they make a request, you know it to be most
likely be reasonable. It also helps you to learn who will be putting on the
dog, because they can't cope with their duties or want to feel important at
my budget's expense and want you to needlessly spend money when there is a
high degree of probability that they will only use the program once or
twice.

I had users who wanted me to buy Photoshop so they could crop pictures and
remove red eye from photos. That was their complete business case. In your
world, I should have joust spent the $700, rather than think for 2 seconds
and gotten them Elements at 1/8 the cost.

Your world must be verrrrry expensive. But hey, it's only your client's
money, not yours, so who cares? Right?

> That's what IT "running well" looks like.

Sure. Come on over and I'll show you what it's supposed to look like. It's
clear you have trouble visualizing that.
