Wait, "install-gui gui-old" should be running Xpmac not XFree. Just
verified here, it's not. Looks like I lost that functionality in porting
to the 9.1 installer.
We worked through r128 quite extensively over IRC, and were unable to come
up with a reason nor solution as to why it won't work in XFree during the
install. Post install seems to work fine.

You could look at your XFree86.0.log in /var/log from VT2 and see if there's a module missing. I can post the module up for you on my web space, but to use it you'll need to do a network or HD install.

i would paste the log, as well as config files, but it's not exactly an easy task, if i don't find a fix, i may do just that. from the log... after loading the int10 module, it complains about there being no video bios. checks isa and pci space, with nada. says i am using a flat panel (which i am, in the ibook) but cannot determine panel dimensions.
then, when it halts with errors of unresolved symbols. the symbols are drmAgpBase drmGetInterruptFromBusID drmCtlInstHandler DRIGetDeviceInfo drmCtlUninstHandler
while loading modules, only the int10 gives any kind of error, so i don't think missing modules are actually at fault here. any more idea's?
