You don't need to post the whole thing.  I was hoping the unresolved
symbols was due to a lacking module in the installer image.  In
/tmp/Xconf, is Driver r128 or fbdev?

You could fall back to text install for now, it needs to be tested too.  I
did a few here, and there is package selection now, so that's a plus :)

I keep saying I need to either buy a r128 card or a machine with r128
since it seems to be such a problem child, but given the current state of
things, I'm afraid to spend money on anything but essentials (rent, food,
utilities).
