Toying with the idea of optimizing code for different platforms.... In
the future could one hope to see an option on the expert install to
optimise a few of the packages towards a certain CPU? Servers like
Apache, etc would greatly benefit from this as would other CPU intense
applications. If the number of packages recompiled were small it would
be worth the extra install time IMO. I'm running an 800mhz AMD Tbird and
I know that most of the packages are optimised for Pentiums....
Just an idea that I know at least one other person on this list will
appreciate me voicing.
