I think you missed the point I was trying to make. What I was getting at is that "most" users coming from a Windoze background will have no idea whatsoever how to use a pc other than by way of a gui interface, leaving them utterly dumb-founded when faced with a problem that leaves them stranded at a *nix commandline. They're dead in the water. Sure, one can reflect back to the good old days of DOS, Wordstar, even Word Perfect (eeech!), but reality is that Uncle Bill has done such a good job of dumbing down the desktop, since Win95 (really), that making the move from Win-anything to any type of *nix is not a pleasant experience for a lot of people. Now seriously, how many _average_ WinDoze users do you know that can really handle a problem when their gui is not accessable? Less than 1% I would guess. As for Gnome... Have you tried ALT-F1 ???
