personally, I prefer single-click and most newbies can easily adapt to
single-click
But, I noticed that many newbies have problems when they use a GNOME
file selection box (say GIMP) and have to double-click in there. I
actually had a call that the user couldn't view the contents of a dir
("it won't let me in"), it was because the user always did single-click
on the dir - and waited.
I know that this won't help with apps that have their own file selection
box. But whatever it'll be, make it consistent over most apps. If that
involves double-click in KDE, so be it.
