Someone's been listening to the NFB. Though that may be true in many cases,
it's also untrue in many as well. It does make a good talking point or polemic,
however, until it's used to block accessibility for blind folks.
I get away with a lot of things in the kitchen or on my computer that I
wouldn't recommend for most other blind folks because of my background as a
restaurant manager and multiple computer related jobs. But those skills were
developed using sight and then translated, and I've tried to teach them to
congenitally blind folks with little success.
