For some4 of us stickiness on the skin is unpleasant, or even creepy. This
prevents me from eating glazed donuts, and when I helped my dad work on his
sports car as a kid I couldn't get the grease off my skin fast enough when
we finished working.
Ribs violate two of my basic food rules -- I don't eat anything that messy
and I don't eat food with that much infrastructure in it.
