If you cut the sprouts into thin slices and fry them in butter and a
little oil until the slices are tender, add a little more butter, melting
it into the sprouts. Sprinkle on the cheese and enjoy.

While visiting a barbecue place during the summer they had Brussels
sprouts
with parmesan cheese on them as one of the sides, and it was wonderful.
