Harry, For sure the AD for the rear spars of the Center Section was because of hard landing. As was the Cracking of the belly skin as see a while back on the list. Now why do you think Forney put Aluminum on the wings? Was it to save time or to last longer? If the ladder why not zinc the inside to make it really last. I'll put my money that the skinning of the wings make for stronger component. And more important it was the in thing of the times. Yours, Warren H.
