Bob,

I fly a '67 Alon, and do not land slower than 70. In fact, in gusty wind,

or with extra weight I'll land at 80-85. That said, I'm usually off the
runway in a thousand feet or less. The 'Coupe has very little float, so
if
you come in a little hot, you can bleed off speed in ground effect in a
heartbeat, once you get used to it.

The fella who trained me how to fly 'Coupes taught me that in a pinch I
could land her at full cruise if the field is long enough, but to never
ever
land her too slow. Behind the power curve is an unhappy place to be; get
too slow and you could drop her like a rock.

You could land that 182 so slow partly because of those big ol' flaps,
which
we don't have.
