Hi Bob, I just went through all of this with my Coupe. I don't believe the Coupe tail can get too high. I installed the doughnuts and spacers form Skyport and it made a world of difference in the handling characteristics, the spacers go above the doughnuts so you might as well as do it all.Pete -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, October 01, 2002 8:40 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [COUPERS-TECH] Re: Digest list: Ercoupe Technical discussion (moderated) ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- I have determined that my 1966 Alon A2 does not have Belleville springs but the old style donuts ( 4 on each side) Someone must have changed them when they found out that the replacement cost was $600 + . There is no notation in the logs of this change. and I have all the logs from new. I talked to Skyport today and was told I could replace the donuts and the install the spacer fix to take care of my 9 1/2" tail low problem for a little over $100 in parts. He also indicated that I was most likely better off with the donuts due to the replacement cost factor. Does anyone know how do you determined if the donuts are actually bad.? If you replace the donuts should you install the spacer kit also? I am slightly confused and don't want to over kill and have the tail to high and have to take this apart 3 - 4 times. Anyone that can give me some info on this would be helpfull Bob Bullock N5621F Maryland ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm ====================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
