I don't know how the data plate thing works. Mine has a data plate attached to the dashboard. On the tail, it has a fabricated stainless plate with the numbers engraved with a hand held engraving tool. I don't know if the plate that was on the tail is the one that is inside now or if the plane should have two of them. The logs are 100% complete right back to the factory with the first hour of test flight signed off by someone called Weik, (not Fred), but I can't remember the first name. In 36 years of flying, nobody has ever asked to see my pilot's license, much less the tags on my plane. Alan.
