Roy, I think you misunderstand the thumbscrews. All it takes is one turn to release mine, which, I'm sure, takes about the same amount of time to pull your clip and chain. Syd Roy D. We use a "clip" with a short (4 in) chain attached to the window handles. This prevents the windows from opening more than 3-4 in. The clip and chain are such that in an emergency they can be "pulled" off with a minimum of force. It seems I flew in a coupe years back that had something like that. My original one does not hold and the windows "drift" down. I am sure this is not an uncommon problem, I just do not know how to correct it.
