It's a five inch longflexible neck with a square base on both ends. Re mounting suggestions, you might also check out the following web site for mounting hardware: http://www.ram-mount.com/index.htm Jerry, I though about puting my 195 on the panel, but I think the sun will wash it out at that angle. I know just hanging it from the glare shield did not work well. You might get a mount on the glare shield just in front of the pilot, but that would block some of the instruments. I have finally opted to adjust the yoke mount so that it is between my legs, effectively proping the GPS into a viewable position that does not interfer with the controls. I use the outside antenna on the back glass and run the antenna wire to the front between the seats. I have a cigarette lighter in the Alon into which I have plugged an adapter that ends with 3 cigarette lighter sockets. This allows me to power the Icom A-22 radio, GPS 195 and intercom from the electrical system, saving batteries. I mounted the radio in a metal box made for the purpose. It looks like a metal cell phone holder with a high back and a 90 degree lip for screwing into the top of the glareshield. I rigged up the outside antenna from my old Mark 12, and the radio works ok, although not great. I will be interested to learn how you use and mount the 195. I usually leave the yoke mount in the plane and just take the 195 back and forth in my flight bag, unless I want to practice at home--then I plug the 195 into a transformer that plugs in the wall socket that has a cigarette socket on the other end. I got it at an autoparts store. Let me know how it goes with the 195. I am still learning things about it. Ken Doyle Springfield, Mo Alon N5477E
