advice in this forum.]----

I am sure that all of us who have read the NTSB report on the AZ crash of
the ERcoupe that took two lives is more than concerned about the
structural
integrity of our airplanes. I own a 1966 Alon-A2 and flew with my children
and grandchildren on many occasions. (Note I used the the PAST tense-
-"flew") I will no longer take passengers until I am sure this area of my
airplane is inspected/replaced.
The immediate problem I have is that I do not fully understand EXACTLY
what
must be done to the plane to make it right. Is this attach point in the
box
section under the wing walk? Or are we talking about removing the wing and
removing the wing skin to inspect/replace?
I am taking the position that these two dissimilar metals after 35 years
of
marriage are on the verge of a divorce. I have $40,000 in my Alon and was
under the misguided assumption that all the upgrades I have installed on
the
plane were now behind me. It appears this is not the case.
If there is ANYONE out there who can enlighten me on what has to be done
to
save my airplane, please let me know.
