     I worked and worked to get my temps down and the thing that finally 
     did the trick was to seal around the carb air intake.  It's just as 
     important (or even more so) to keep the lower cowl at a *low
pressure* 
     as it is to seal the upper cowl for high pressure.  
     
     Most air intakes that you see will have a 1/4"-1/2" gap around the 
     inlet and this puts quite a bit of air into the lower cowl.
     
     Heat transfer through the cylinders is a function of pressure 
     *differential* so when you're working on cooling those jugs it's good

     to visualize the high and low pressure areas.
