I don't think that is exactly right.  An agent will not quote you if
another
agent has done so because he knows that all of the carriers have already
provided one quote and would be duplicitive to do it again.  That's why
they
ask for N number on the a/c being quoted.  I don't believe AVEMCO is part
of
this conspiracy as they sell direct and not through agents.  They are also
one of the more expensive.  They do however, advertise that they will pay
a
loss even if the pilot violated an FAR.  I crashed my Lancair a couple of
years ago due to engine failure and they didn't bat an eye at a total.
