Trog doesn't care if you get hurt; he just wants you to rage with him. Mahkleb DOES care about pain, and wants more of it. Why not ask his followers to donate some, while they're busy collecting pain from others? (The condition you're proposing is not good, by the way -- in that situation you're not likely to avoid being hit on your next turn, so you're not giving anything up for Trog's benefit there; it's almost pure benefit at no additional risk.) A different minigame: corpse arrangements. I dunno, geometric patterns? Combinations of races (like a slot machine)?
