The primary differences from '88 to '89 isa are rear suspension and seatbelts but others are more subtle. For '89 there was a relocation of the pickup point of the rear trailing arms to the body shell to reduce a bump steer issue from the '88 when the rear suspension went through it's motion. As the arm travelled through stroke the toe setting changed and some felt the '88 could be a bit tail happy although racers actually prefer it for better rotation. Also the '89s (except HF) got the seat belts moved onto the doors from the B pillar in an attempt to improve the passive restaint situation. Because of this, the '89 had a heavier door and the door glass got shorter and the black outer B-pillar trim got wider. Some of the steel sculpting by the door jambs changed as well. The rear lower control arms went from inverted U shaped stamped sheet steel to a cast "I" beam shape and this required a different lower shock attachment. The floor pan had some changes so the seat rails are not interchangeable although the upholstery stayed the same.
As for color, I know silver was offered in '88 and was dropped in either '89 or '90 in leiu of white (on Sis at least). Not sure exactly as I have never had a silver CRX. I think rust proofing got better in '89 as they seem to hold up much longer. While we are at it from, '89 to '90 were the big changes and I can touch on several but may miss a few. On Sis, that I can recall there was a change in interior cloth, instrument cluster, different contours of the front and rear bumpers including recesses for fog lights up front, changed to bigger front calipers and added rear disc brakes and larger master cyl. and proportioning valve, new cam and computer giving a wee bit more power and rev, more crash protection with double steel in the rear quarters and doors adding close to 100 lbs., thinner door trim all around, different factory alloy wheels, different tail lights. Those are all the ones that jump out at me.
