Of course in Canada we didn't have those "wonderful" passive seatbelts, so
our B-pillar trim never got morphed like the US model. I believe the
Canadian '89 model *did* get an integral door beam which made it a total of
about 25 pounds heavier than a similarly-equipped '88.
