Robert,

Just my humble opinion, but Honda never has and probably never will build a decent, fun-to-drive automatic tranny.

Ain't that the truth!  :^)

Their manual tranny's are just the opposite and set the standard everyone else measures their's against.  Does anyone else on the list drive a *shudder* automatic CRX?  Good, bad, or just plain ugly driving experience?

I did drive a an Automatic (Second Gen) CRX last year and it had no guts under the hood.  :^P

However, if you're just looking for a commuter car, it's not bad.  It cruises rather nicely.  But if you're an enthusiast or performance kook, then this is not the car for you.  I did hear of someone who did a auto to manual conversion (I think it's listed on the Honda Hybrid web site in the archives).  I believe the owner did it because he had the parts available as well as the time and skill needed.
