but in other technologies other then JAVA
why.... does JAVA houses ever come forward to help them gain experience
and workplace exposure

So we have companies looking for Java programmers, and Java
programmers sitting at home? Strange situation. Not good
for anyone actually.
How about building something as a JUG - all those who are
currently not doing anything productive? Then you can
point to what you have done online or as an application
and prove that you have to skills to do the job? You might
know programmers from Cape Tech that are sitting around
hoping for some cool work. If we get them onto the JUG and
build something useful, then they will get exposure and have
some fun.
I would be willing to be involved in something like that,
but I cannot drive the project forward.
Any volunteers who have the time and energy?
