What some brazillian jugs have done is created an environment for OS
projects similar to sourceforge. Perhaps the ctjug can provide the
environment for interested parties?

I set up subversion and a wiki on the ctjug site years ago with this
idea in mind, but the only one to take it up was Enrico and then the
box got placed behind a firewall and access became a problem.

I believe the projects should be 'organic', i.e. they must derive from
a need (an 'itch') - see Shuttleworth's latest comment on projects
like these. I agree with Heinz (!) that the projects should be none
trivial, but also interesting - voice prompted distributed tic-tac-toe
for the cell phone anyone?
