Very long. Good to catch up with you. I too abandoned the list for a long
while and only just came back.

Definately. I thought it was a real show stopper in a couple of cases. When
I first reported it to this group, I suggested that an unsuspecting report
can pull the whole server down.
e.g. boss says "OI You! give me a list of everyone who hasn't given us
their city they live in then!, Oh, and let me know all their transaction
history and any other details we have on them both here and in Australia
so's I can figure out where they're from then."
As you may imagine, unsuspecting programmer, whips up a beaut little
crystal report that queries 1 million people here and 5 million in Aussie
looking for only those tiny few who didn't say where they lived. The same
query then gets all the transaction history, telephone messages, sales
calls, repair history etc.
Thinking it'll list about half a dozen people, the poor sod probably has to
wait 5 days before he's proved right. In the meantime, no user in any
office throughout Australasia is able to access either the database or
their network due to congestion. Poor sod is walking sadly down street
rubbing boot print off trousers after the end of day 1.
That query will not just get the 6 million records, it'll also get every
record from every database the master is attached to (transaction history
etc).

"Nifty telephone-number-direct-to-Development-team" version 1.0
Other than that, I dunno. Trying to find the Report Builder Pro, Alta-Vista
turned up "ReportPrinter Pro" which seems to have a nifty end user report
builder. That may help.
