You asked about the state of the chart module. The chart module is
currently reimplemted from scratch to create a useable base to implement
the missing features. The accessory childworkspace is 'chart2mst3'. I am
not sure whether we can integrate it before 3.0.
That sounds not good, is it possible to help? Maybe at the specification
process? Would it make sense, if external volunteers specify the
behavior of already implemented chart2mst3 features? Maybe we can
publish a press release that help is needed?
First we have to finish
the reimplementation and there is still a lot of work. If you are
interested in evaluating or testing the current state I maybe could
provide some current builds for download
I think only a few people know about the ongoing reimplementation. IMHO
the chart2 project is hide too deep, as a submodule of the graphics
project. Is there a technical reason, that chart2 belongs to this
project? Or is this just the department structure inside SUN? Wouldn't
it be good to give chart(2) full project status, with own website and
mailing list?
