Dear Daniel,

Sorry if I seemed offensive; it was not my intention. We respect and admire
your work (we refered it in a paper).
I know LanguageTool *does* work; I only highlighted the broad coverage achieved
by CoGrOO; look, it's not a miracle:
our group have had up to ten collaborators (now, only six) working by almost
two years and half.
A question: is your current version of LanguageTool using some kind of
syntactic parsing, shallow parsing or chunking (like us)?
Because some error rules need this information to achieve correct
classification.
Server side of CoGrOO was developed in perl, and client is in Java.
CoGrOO was not launched yet, but it can be tested by
http://cogroo.incubadora.fapesp.br -> área de testes -> detector de Erros, and
it is going to be licensed by a free software license (probably, LGPL).

Best regards,

Carlos Menezes
CoGrOO Team

I'm not sure what you refer to, but LanguageTool *does* work, and it's even
integrated into OOo. Of course there are many errors it cannot detect yet,
but that's by design, because the rules define what an error is, not what
a correct sentence is. So the main difference is that is that LanguageTool
is available for English and German, and that it's written in Java, and
that it actually is available now under LGPL.

Regards
 Daniel
