Hi there,

I have 2 proposals. One is editing the site so we let users know ways on sharing their large PSD / XCF files to other users. These can be sites like rapidshare.com, sendfiles.com, tinyurl, and so on.

I think that would be a good idea, indeed. Can someone come up with a text proposal?

What do you need as part of this text proposal, do you have a template?

The other is having a public upload site so that it have aditional services like RSS, disable authentication, mod_rewrite to generate simpler URLs.

I think that is impossible with the current CollabNet infrastructure - we only can do this is we find volunteers with own servers.

Then don't go to collabnet, I have run a file server for the OOoES community and never had any issues and have been working efficiently with 0 spam. The application will let anyone delete the files so we can easily delete them and the storage wasn't needed as much. I mean we only used less than 100MB

If we do it for ART we could potentially have a larger space (1GB storage) since the files are considerably bigger. I can provide that storage with no issues. However we can enforce policies on a size limit and we could delete the files since is just temporary repository for file transfer.

I also think is time to get the art their own project and not hang off marketing anymore. Should we have an art.openoffice.org?

I think that has been discussed about a year ago, but wasn't accepted?

Any reason? I think I saw the conversation but there was (as always) not a clear decision so it defaulted to no decision. Also the fact that Chris Driga was also the art/marketing lead. It didn't make much sense having 2 different projects with the same lead.

So with CD recent set out of the project, is time to think on emancipating the project. And hopefully give a new face off.

Florian
