During the extensive PMC discussion on this matter (way back when) I
asked the MyFaces committers who supported the idea to step forward
and volunteer to work on it. Nobody answered the call. In fact, I
was the only one who bothered to look at the source code and I
detected several issues which I then raised to the rest of the group.

So far this is the case. The existing committers are trying to keep
up with a full plate of bugs, maven stuff and intergrating Tobago.
Our users are also clamoring for another release and then there is the
issue of the solaris zone. Again I ask the existing committers who
are going to spend the countless hours to refactor the ADF code to
please step forward and identify yourselves ...

If this is not the appropriate role of the incubator then I would
agree with you. I'm relatively new to the ASF and the incubator
process so I will defer to others on what is appropriate for the
incubator. All I know is that the ADF donation cannot be dropped into
MyFaces (even the sandbox) in the way it is now.

I agree that months have gone by without a serious demonstrated
interest in MyFaces. Adam and a few others have been contributing on
the dev list but that has been the extent of it. I personally
appreciate and welcome that participation but the contribution has
been mostly limited to spec discussions, etc. Again, that is very
helfpul but to answer Ted's question, no patches or code contributions
have been made that I can recall.
