Hi Sophie,

yes, if you spend your time to track this. My feeling was that I was in a community where sharing experience could give a good result too more may be than massive votes on an issue.

I mean that the very reason to provide milestone builds is that the community can evaluate and comment on the work in progress, and that you can provide feedback by filing issues. A more direct way to communicate with whoever is doing the actual localization would of course be preferable but maybe difficult to set up and maintain.

We are asking for those companies to contribute back, but if when they say 'well Gallery means nothing, so please translate it, or correct it for Galerie' the answer is 'It has been decided that Gallery should not be translated'. Just place this decision side by side with Stylist one, and I really wonder where is the consistency in those decisions.

I understand your point, and I don't understand why "Gallery" should not be translated. It would be something to change in the Dutch OOo as well. But it seems the problem is more fundamental than separate words, so therefore I would try to start a discussion on the approach to localization, e.g. via the mailing lists I mentioned, or maybe via the persons listed on l10n responsible for the localization of the French SO/OOo. Maybe you get to change some people's minds...

Vriendelijke groet, Simon Brouwer.
