And if Gili is correct asserting things are fixed but not marked fixed then that does become problematic. My view on this at the moment is mainly related to conversations about website content, and I wholeheartedly agree with your point there - I'd quite like to make the initial guidelines more lightweight. But another thing that puts people off is if the guidelines that do exist don't tie up with what's happening. So, in terms of initial guidelines for contributors, I'm all for trimming the fat and reflecting what is actually going on!
