Hi, Eric, who wrote answers or did not get some? Think I responeded to every thread. So you wrote your opinion, are there others on the board? There are no plans to make a clone of open office or an own bundling, nor is there a plan to make cSpace compatible with Open Office from cspace side. CSpace has not the manpower to to this as well as CSpace has own development goals. The action has to come from Open Office. The existing version is perfect, bug free and is a good basis, the CSpace development then can be taken by Open office for free as well. So the basic release now is easy to handle.
Cspace should not be integrated *in* a component, but in OO *as* a component. Pyhton is welcome for open office is the official anouncement on the homepage. Otherwise i had not asked. A Kademlia DHT is not unknow, it allows a p2p Messenger without any server. Limewire is as well developing such a thing with thier DHT called Mojito, So.. Cspace is just worldwide the first release of a messenger using this technology. Year ago, star office from sund was made, there even no messenger was existing. Today it is the biggest market growing, see the sucess of skype. So for a office Suite a Messenger Communication and especially for a desktop application suite this makes sense! keep the Sun shining and up to date! Of course you need in the office Email and messenger, See Outlook and Live Messenger or Lotus and Sametime. let´s start with the messenger, maybe later a Mailclient can be joining as well as the 8th component. Imagine every user running the messenger and with an icon click they launch the wordprocessor or the calculator, it is just as the MS office tool or lauch-bar. so many options... Well the process is described, I cannot code, as always for innovations people write but´s and don´ts and effort... And other are not responding.. it need time to check and test the programm and till this decision is a common thing, that everbody is working with the new thing, a lot of time has rushed.. I cannot code and If here on the list no one is interested and has no time to have a look at it or even sees the potentials and benefits for a desktop office suite... then the thread is dead, yes. I have a lot of interest and motivation, and would like to work on that component, but i cannot do it alone. -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Datum: Fri, 28 Jul 2006 20:04:00 +0200 Von: "Éric Bischoff" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> An: [email protected] Betreff: Re: [dev] Adding a buddylist / Instant Mesenger to openoffice > Le Vendredi 28 Juillet 2006 19:43, Thomas Müller a écrit : > > But we have all to agree on that, that we want to have this component. > > Personally I _do not_ agree to have an instant messenger integrated with > OOo's > core.
