I don't know what a user expects from Calc, I do know what happens when
you double click on a percentage cell in that other product.

I agree that this is not expected behaviour and should be annotated as
either an enhancement or this should be in the help. This is, however,
the way that a percentage cell functions in that other spreadsheet product.

Not a trap, but a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

My suggestion is that we document how this works now and if we want to
change it, put in an enhancement request. People migrating from that
other product expect this type of action for a cell. And Yes, I was
surprised that Calc worked this way as well, but I have access to that
other product and that is how it functions.
