No, this is how the percentage data type functions:

Why? I'm always entering "raw numbers" somehow.
The function of double clicking imho indicates that I want to do the editing into the cell itself instead in the symbol pane. Nothing more.
Why number format detection/adaption should change it's behavior then.

If you - after double click - enter text in a formated cell( i.e. centered, Bodoni 14,5 pt. italic) you would also not expect that the text now is aligned left and in standard font (i.e. plain Arial 12 pt) just because you entered "raw text"?

I have reopened the issue and changed it to an enhancement request. It is not a bug as the cell action functions as it was designed and has been this way for a long time (pre-OpenOffice.org) and mimicked the function of this type of cell in that other spreadsheet program.

Thus this functions as designs and I have closed the issue as Invalid.

I don't think this is was wise decision.

I agree. And I apologize for doing so in haste. Again, I have re-opened the issue and changed it to an enhancement so that the function will be the same as that other spreadsheet program.
