Hey Gert, I already started digging into Karaf 3.0.0, running basic Camel examples, etc. Seems good so far.
During the process, I found an issue with endorsed libraries and submitted a ticket + pull request. Take a look when you get a chance: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SM-2240.
