Hi Daniel, Maarten, Kay, Louis, and everyone else.

It is coming to the point where a decision needs to be made between the
web site proposals. We specified Jan 28 (UTC?) as the deadline for the
proposals, seeing as it is Jan 27 here, that gives me (not sure about
the others) one more day.

Current viable proposals:
---------------------------------------------
1) Matthew OOoWeb2
   URL = http://website.openoffice.org/nonav/tryouts/Matthew/OOoWeb2/index.htm
2) Maarten Murb 2.1
   URL = http://www.murb.nl/extern/openoffice.org/websiteproposal/2.1/
3) Matthew OOoWeb2.1
   URL = http://website.openoffice.org/nonav/tryouts/Matthew/OOoWeb2.1/index.htm
---------------------------------------------

At this fairly early stage in deployment, I believe that we must judge these
pages on the following criteria, in this order:
- Usability
- Effectiveness (from our perspective) of the layout
- And the Visual Style.

Any proposal could have changes applied to it, so I think it is important to
choose the web site this is *most* flexible, and the *best* one (rather than
the perfect one, which we have already discussed).

My proposals are not entirely finished, and neither are Maarten's. However, the
time draws near that the decision must be made. Keep in mind that no decision
is final, and the website that is replaced now, can be easily changed later.

Also, the proposals only cover the first page, other pages' styles are yet to
be
made in both cases (although I have played around with a few of the other pages
myself).

I am not exactly certain how the choice is going to take place, perhaps Louis
has
some ideas? Perhaps a simple vote in the mailing list is all that we need,
perhaps
not, I will leave that up to the authorities (Kay and Louis).

I, personally, am willing to help with any pages that need to redone (such as
support, download, etc), regardless of the proposal chosen, and will almost
always
be available to help.

Well done to everyone who has helped with the creation of these great
proposals,
and submitted constructive suggestions. I look forward to seeing how it will go.

If anyone has any ideas that need to be incorporated in my proposals, please
let
me know ;).

Kind Regards,
--
