Yes! Revise my proposed survey to make that the #1 question on the survey. In fact, remove the last 3 questions I asked to make room for that one. Whoo hoo! /daniel is starting to get hope that the survey might help. > If we were to develop it into a survey we would only need to add other > non-usability related questions such as: > - Since when are you using OOo ? > - Is this the first time you are coming to OOo site ? > - Are you a registered member of the website ? > ...etc > > What do you think ? Not those questions! No no no. The survey should be laser-targeted towards usability, and the user's motives. I would be delighted if we just had these two questions: 1) Why are you visiting our site today? 2) Did you find what you were looking for? That ALONE would be the best survey. It's short, concise, to the point. People won't be put-off by excessive length. And it focuses on what matters. > But without studying the user a bit we stay on the "I think", "I > believe", "I feel" types of statements on which we can argue forever. Or you can study usability. It may help deciding and it completes the picture. ... AFTER an initial page design. Look, I am willing to press my opinions less, if we agree to put a site up sooner, and then put up the survey. How does that sound?
