would like to link to the wiki or to a page on the main site first.
Yes. If it points to current Development page, then let's clean it up
a lot and keep the wiki as the main content page. Development would
mainly point to the wiki; the only reason to use Development (which
I think should generally be deprecated) is b/c I don't know the
status of the wiki server. Conceivably, we could point it to an OSU
server, like the Extensions link.
I'd prefer the latter, but we need to work on the landing page
either way. Neither development.ooo nor the wiki homepage are a
good target at the moment.

The pro argument includes:
* makes it easier for developers. Right now the "contributing" tab
is ambiguous, as it must be--it's comprehensive. Further, Mozilla
has "developers" and in the interest of a common language, it
would help.
The con argument includes:
* makes it confusing, as "contributing" already exists, even
though we'd remove "programming" if we have 'developers'.
The basic assumption is that all or virtually all users hitting
the homepage are endusers and not developers.
This is a self-fulfilling prophecy if there is no interesting
content / link for developers on the homepage.
Btw, any thoughts about my proposal to add a blue "developers"
button below "new users"?
It's fine with me. In fact, I'm strongly for it, though it would
arguably duplicate information linkage on the homepage.
