Hi,

I was trying to write an e-mail where I was comparing our website to that of others... and then I got it :D (imho): We should simply rename Projects to Developers and change maybe a bit of the wording. What do you want to do. Why? Well, you want people there where they feel they can contribute the most to something they want to do themselves. So where to start... well euh... contributing? Too broad... and there the project page comes in to place.

Projects as a main menu item is not common at websites I've been looking at (see below), and the developer-pages are often trying to explain in what directions one can contribute... quite an overlap with our projects page right?

I'm trying to think why this is a bad idea. :-)... and failing. The Projects page (modulo Kay et al.) could work, with some additions as I've suggested. The concern is information duplication and the outdating of links, etc. Hence, the idea of minimal links--in this case, to projects plus pages on the wiki plus bug reporting.

So, let's say that Projects becomes "Developers". I think that is feasible with the Collabnet application but I'd have to double check. "Projects" is used by CEE a lot, and there may be hidden calls.

If it becomes "Developers" we could also at some point do what Moz. does and have "Products"--which I want, anyway, once we have them. :-) (We could do that anyway of course.) These would include not just the binaries but but also extensions. "Products" would clearly indicate to users that the things there are finished and are for enduse.
