And plans change (and they did). KDE never committed (which is different from "no plans") to support X11 until plasma7, just some wished to interpret it that way. Given that Plasma7, which depends on Qt7, is unlikely to be released until 2033-ish (admittedly a lot of release date hand waving there), I am not surprised they decided that eight years was just a bridge too far. Giving individuals advanced notice (even if not as long as some might like), gives those impacted individuals time to make plans (or plans to build and run Plasma 6.7 long term). If the KDE organization is properly community driven, I am sure they understood the change was not going to be universally accepted. You can't make all the people happy all of the time. If you truly believe you were bait-and-switched, the only appropriate reaction is to stop using the product/service. That is as true for your local brick and mortar store as it would be for KDE. -- _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected] Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
