Huh... learned a new word today. ;)
Who is 'They' in your sentence?

Is there any evidence of this happening?

I suppose google keeps telling everyone that they have to have DKIM, but
they have said that for a long while and yet emails go through?

We do have SPF and DMARC (all be it in a permissive way).

I haven't been convinced yet that that is the case.

email in general is less and less reliable.

The large providers also often reject or delay emails for whatever
reasons they want to. For example, I couldn't send to hotmail from my
home mail server (I should check if I can now). Nothing I could do fixed
it... they just refused my email.

yahoo often blocked the entire fedoraproject.org domain when 1 person
marked a legit email they signed up for as a spam.

Adding locked down DMARC/SPF/DKIM is not any kind of surity that the
email will be accepted.
