"Race" is a term that itself already stems from at least some form of
racism. There are no "races" in the homo sapiens sapiens subspecies, to
which all living humans belong. Especially as a German, I'm always bewildered
to see this term circulating in the american culture, even in official forms,
where I always enter "homo sapiens sapiens" when asked for "race". I'm
wondering why nobody stumbled about that term already.

Regardless of your opinion, discrimination by "race" exists, has evidence to
support it, and will not be tolerated.

It's a bit US-centric, but I'd HIGHLY recommend this little history lesson:

We will not be striking this term, as doing so would hide the problem that
clearly exists.

I fully understand that this is still a major problem in some countries,
but maybe putting the term in quotes ("race") helps to transport the
message that this term is not adequate when used for humans.
