Good point Jaime.  I clearly see your goal and _we_ know this is easy to
do.  The challenge is getting everyone else to adopt the .upd extension.  I
do not know if this is possible.  My guess... no :-(

On the flip side, a standard rpm panel installer may be of interest.  This
is where I am focusing my development efforts.  I have this working and am
into my third rpm build, adding features as I go.  My panel will provide a
means to install .upd, .rpm and Blade/wrapper rpms.

I've sent to you directly a sneak peak of what I'm working on already.  Did
you receive my e-mail?  I'll have -3 ready sometime tomorrow.
