But what about enabling 3rd party delivery servers?

This would obviously either require you to provide a copy of your broker
software, or as the blades protocol is found in the blades perl modules
someone could implement their own.

The logical extension would be to allow multiple sources, certainly has
worked for eons with the likes of apt.

Then you could ensure that Mitel provided blades had prominance at the
top of the list, followed by say blades from Dan Brown's site or Darell
May's site or perhaps a contrib.e-smith.com listing of active community
additions to the product.
