I just realized that there is another possibliity. Check the patch
files and be certain that they are in Unix text format, and NOT
in DOS text format. This can easily be seen with "vi". Every
line will display with an "^M" at the end of the line.
If you find "^M"'s, remove all of them. The FTP distribution at
Michael Anton's site has been changed to use "gzip" format to
make sure this does not happen in the future.
