However, looking at their site, you must prepay 1000 domain
names to get that price. To received OpenSRS pricing, you
must prepay 50 domain names, which is in line with OpenSRs
policy.

This again points out that you need to provide a value added
service along with the domain name registrations and not try
to make a profit from just providing domain name
registrations.

As these low prices become known, and they will, given this
is the internet, clients are going to be demanding that you
register their domain names for $10 or less. They too will
point out that DotRegistrar and others are only charging
$6.99, ignoring the fact that you must register 1000 domains
to get that price.

Now I agree that registering 1000 domain names is not that
difficult. However, do you wish to have $7000.00 of your
money sitting in another company's banking account while you
do this? I hate to see $500 setting idle, even if it is
just for one day.

As to the domain delete feature, I see that as more of a
headache than a feature. This will result in more domains
being registered and then deleted as the client has second
thoughts. That means that we will need to process a credit
card refund and the paperwork to delete the domain name.
Even if it just means pushing a button, it still takes time
to log onto the site and push that button.

I prefer the current policy, where I can tell the client up
front, no refunds, and point to that when they request their
money back.

Just my opinion.

Subject: Pricing and domain delete feature

Among so many competitors, OpenSRS really should do
something on pricing and
domain delete feature. I found DotRegistrar today. They
offer bulk rate as
low as $6.99 per domain or less and free domain delete
feature. You can
delete domains within 3 days of registration and get INSTANT
CREDIT back. I
hate to switch companies and would like to stay with
OpenSRS. I just hope
OpenSRS can do something on pricing and domain delete
feature.
