.CA Owners registering with an existing username: not working?

Hello discuss-list,

I have a client who is attempting to register a second domain using
their domain info from their previous .CA domain.

They encounter the error:
Failed attempt: Your are using wrong interface to get all domain info for
domain [doubleudot.ca]

Can a new domain registration not pull the domain info from an
existing .CA domain?
