Hmmm......I like that, just from a 'pro registrant' point of view.....there
are a issues:

a) not all registrars are mean like that....maybe it could be registrar
specific


...and perhaps more issues besides :) But, all the same, I'll talk to some
people around here about it...

NOTE:Resellers should ALL be advising their clients about this; check
yourself to see when the domain was renewed, where possible.
